Weight Watchers
Very many pets in the UK are overweight.

Many owners are unaware that their pets are overweight or how much being overweight can affect their pet. Overweight pets generally tend to be less active, they develop arthritis much earlier in life than they need to, more commonly suffer from conditions like diabetes and tumours than pets of normal weight. In short they do not live as long as they would if their weight is controlled.

Chessington Veterinary Surgery is determined to ensure the pets placed in their care remain as healthy as possible so that they can lead a long and active life. Our nursing team run one to one weight watcher clinics free of charge to monitor your pets weight if required. They carry out regular weigh ins and give advice on feeding with the use of specialist diets when indicated. For some dogs that are particularly problematic in getting started with losing weight, there are also medications available to help start the weight loss.
